Ouch!

Hopefully I got my owiee out of the way for year today. So there I was, just riding along at the front of a small group and my rear wheel flies off. I land straight on my chin, my wheel flies 15 feet in the air, just missing the head of a teammate and goes down an embankment. I try calling Cynthia for a ride home but it turns out her phone was on vibrate in her purse, so I head off to the pharmacy to get some bandages, and I trek the 90 minutes back home my head swaddled in gauze.




I headed over to the Urgent Care and an hour or so later I'm patched up with 9 stitches in my chin. They're right under the bone line so the scar, if any, probably won't be very visible.



Cinch down those quick release skewers and check 'em before every ride!

From East to West

My sister Lilian has decided to leave New York behind and join us in beautiful Northern California. We're all very thrilled that we finally have a family member here after Carol left for Uruguay. I'm also hoping Lilian will get me back in shape again with her new healthy lifestyle.

公公的小寶貝 (Gung Gung's little girl)

At 5 months, Ella is starting to look like 公公 (maternal grandfather). She is mostly sleeping between 6 to 9 hours through the night and laughs a lot. She is starting to sit on her own for a very short period of time.

The nanny is very good to her. She likes to take videos and pictures of Ella. We were looking at one of the videos of Ella sleeping for 5 minutes and thought it was funny because absolutely nothing happened. During the day, the nanny likes to recite Chinese poems to Ella, she may grow up to be a poet some day.
