Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad. Thanksgiving dinner is kinda like an Irish Christmas dinner without the presents and with the addition of sweet potatoes. The other traditional dish is pumpkin pie which we will forego (blech!) and have Peach Cobbler and icecream for desert instead.

More Visitors

After having a quiet house for just over a week, Granny and Grandpa have arrived. Ella is once again enjoying all the attention. You too can listen to the Monaghan death notices at 9am pacific time daily here.

Soccer Season

On Saturday Liam had his last game of the season. As his coach said at the party, he played hot and cold, some days he played pretty good (as a defender), some days, he, er, didn't.

I think his best game of the season was this last one, so yes, he'll probably play again next year.

Poof

Christine, Lilian, Carol, Mom and Auntie Mei have all left the house. It feels so empty. Time like this I wish we all live closer together.

兩個乾女兒 (Two Chinese Princesses)

We had a little get together to celebrate the births of our 2 princesses Chiara and Ella. Pau Pau made her famous Mo Hin Nga, Chicken Curry, Chinese Wine Soup and Lo Mein. A family friend Yin Yin came into the house and said excitedly, "I think I saw someone eating Mo Hin Nga!!!"



We also celebrated the dedication to the 乾媽. I was asked to be Chiara's 乾媽 and Monica is Ella's. We did our little rituals and gift exchanges. It was quite fun. 乾媽 is usually a very good friend of the mom and the dedication of the child serves as an honor to the friend.

Monica gave Ella many wonderful gifts. A red bracelet with many gold penants to symbolize life of riches, a pair of chopsticks and a bowl to symbolize an abundant life, and a rope to symbolize growth.
