The power of positive thinking

Because Ella lost 10% of her birth weight, the pediatrician wanted her to come back to make sure she doesn't continue to lose weight. We had a day to fatten her up. Being a practical doctor, she thought it would be fine for us to give Ella little bit formula at the end of each feeding. We suspect my milk has not really come in yet and Ella hasn't been getting enough eventhough she has been latching on well.

While they were getting ready to leave for the doctor's office, the father and daughter had a chat. Kieran told Ella, "We need you to be 6 lbs 2 ozs today, just 6 lbs 2 ozs."

The nurse weighed Ella as soon as we got there. She weighed 6 lbs 2 ozs. The pep talk worked and everyone was happy. Good job, Ella.
